first day of school!

It's that time of year again...
The beginning of the Fall Semester at the 2 year college where I teach. I am slowly surrendering the freedom I enjoyed over my 3 month break and getting back into the teacher mode. This equals of course me saying goodbye to my sandals, shorts, tee-shirts et al during the week in favour of my teacher mode shirt and tie.
I've only been to one class so far, but the energy of the students after about a half hour has me reasonably excited. The attitudes of the new students were more upbeat than I usually expect. So, just like that, what was a semester I had tepid expectations for, has turned into one I look forward to.
I have a lighter schedule too...hopefully that translates into more time to devote to my art and writing
Till later...

Yup, it's my burfday!

Thanks to all who sent birthday wishes...(Canova...yet another blanket thank you)
I went out with three generations of the family to Coco Plum's in Apple Bay on Wednesday night and had a pretty good dinner. I recommend their sizzling mushrooms appetizer....seriously......do it. Anyways, we had a good time talking nonsense, drinking, eating, and generally being merry.
In more sober news...
The first real hurricane of the season made a guest appearance in the Caribbean Friday. It cooled up the weather here and spooked enough people to kill the night scene even though it passed damn near 200 miles south. It looks like it's gonna hit Jamaica, so pray that injury and damage is kept to a minimum.
Till later,
Peace OUT!

Now with cancer healing cow bell

The oft promised update is here! Be sure to browse around and check out all the new art and photography. I still haven't had a chance to update the design section...but I'll get around to that this weekend. 'Till then, take care and have a great weekend.

pinups and the still-soon-to-come-i-promise-site-update

Soo. I've been back from Europe for a (long) while now, and I had an incredible time in all the places I visited. So much so in fact, that I've decided to spend next summer teaching English as a second language in either Barcelona or Lisbon plus work on my art and writing in a place where I will be undisturbed and unperturbed by all non-creative distractions....
At least there I won't be forced to be drinking unapproved lager (anything with 'Light' in the name) while slaving away at other people's work (if you're a client reading this....specifically NOT yours! I enjoy the work you give me immensely....and I NEVER drink while doing it)...

Anyhow though, aside from what I did this summer and what I wish to do next, the matter is at hand. I'm slaving away (sort of) on a redesign and a thorough update along with some other exciting projects. Amazingly, this third instalment of richardgeorges.com will include FLASH! (I half expect some other language to come out called BAM btw)....After I resigned myself to release that bombshell, I realized that I haven't told you what those EXCITING projects were. I'm working on 2008's edition of Business BVI for Oyster Publications (www.businessbvi.com), designing some music sites for some good and very talented friends of mine; r&b singer JASE at www.listentojase.com, and Phil Richards, CEO of VILander Entertainment at (I can't remember the address!!)...anyhow, both those sites should be live in the coming weeks-months.

If the leggy girl up top didn't give it away....(i'm sure she didn't) I'm on a current kick of pinup girls and nudes. I having a bit of fun with it and loosening up the perfectionist and therefore inherently frustrating style I'd created for myself. Sure photorealism is cool, but it isn't always fun. It's a lot more exhilarating and rewarding when even I am not entirely sure where a piece of art is heading. It's a lot more impulsive than I'm used to, and it may not always work out the way I envisioned - but it's better than getting pissed off halfway through and chucking my pad across the room.

Till next time good folks and wayward pedestrians!
Rich
